Jesus is merciful. Let this sink to your depths: He is merciful. Go to Him. Take the wounds you’ve incurred. Take your guilt over wounds you’ve caused. Take your heart broken once again by that old pattern of sin. Take your sickness. Your depression. Disappointment. He has mercy.

If we have to play dumb to be accepted, make peace with being rejected. Respect others. Walk in humility. But stop playing dumb to make insecure people feel smart.
Evangelicalism is in humiliating need of reform but the thing is, it’s possible. In OUR lifetimes. All that stands between us & an astonishing work of the Holy Spirit is repentance. Quit being scared of rocking a boat that has run aground on an island of compromise. Walk on water.
When you get discouraged with the smaller picture, look to the larger. When you get discouraged with the larger picture, look to the smaller. Don’t quit. Just shift to a different ministry angle. In a culture yelling the bigger the better, I’m finding life again in looking small.
There is no righteous way to be racist.
You be you. But I ain’t gotta be you. And you ain’t gotta be me.
It’s all gonna be alright someday. Till then we work, we love, we pray. But it’s all gonna be alright someday.
Accept your own story. Reject your past’s hold on your future but do yourself a favor: accept your past. Take it to the hill. Stand with it laid bare in the shadow of the cross. Believe God. Receive grace. Surrender self-hatred. Simply live as 1 to whom His grace was not in vain.
We have the means to change. We really can do it. Remember the Israelites in the wilderness whose skeletons were strewn all over the desert because of their unbelief? They didn’t disbelieve what God could do. They saw wonders daily. They disbelieved what he could do through them.
God‘s mercies are new every morning. His grace is always sufficient. Like manna in the desert to the Israelites, He calls us to trust Him each day for that day’s supply. Give me this day my daily bread, my faithful Father. An advance supply would undermine our faith. Trust today.
I’m pro marriage. Nearly 40 years of ups and downs to back that up. But when we as a church culture demonize divorce as the worst possible outcome - the sin of all sins - we truly have no clue on this ever loving earth what some people are enduring. We do not submit to abuse. NO.
